Life is like a contest.(or an exam???)..bleh!

Never heard of Steve Jobs til today (yeah, i know its stupid)..and waking up and seeing his name all over facebook instantly brought me back on the day that i got my one and only Apple merchandise. It was around 2005 or 2006..when I won an iPod. To win it, I had to run to the stage during a gig and compete with other two contenders. It was actually a series of gigs and I was present from the night it kicked-off where I found out that they’re giving away iPods if you can name all the bands that will play…and so I got the iPod and the rest is history full of eargasm. And so that’s how Steve Jobs touched my life. I may not have known him all through out his existence but his creation had me at hello that I was eagerly able to come to terms with my desperation of winning and getting what I deserve at the same time.

But what I’m tryin to really say is if you’re too desperate to have what you like but too broke to buy it…JOIN A CONTEST!!!! (gawd, im poor…gawd, the things im good at..gawd what am I talkin about). Yeah, that’s the best crap advice I could give to broke people like me. Wait a minute, can you even consider it an advice? It’s too much of a crap. But what the heck? Come to think of it, there’s nothing really wrong with taking chances especially if the price is right. And besides isn’t life a huge contest? We compete everyday. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. And as they say, winning or losing doesn’t matter. What matters at the end of the day is that we put up a good fight. Just make sure that you’re in the right battle though.

Now, whatever happened to my iPod?? oh it only lasted for 2 years as it was borrowed and forgotten.

Fast forward, October 5, 2011, the night before we found out about Steve’s death, Oli was convincing me to buy an iPhone and being the persuasive geek that she is, I got convinced to buy one as soon as I have the means. Talk about premonition and how much we want to be a billionaire…so freakin baaaaaaaaddddddddd…:p

In the meantime, probably to surpass the challenge of taking the board exams (yeah its a freakin challenge to finish the whole term, more so to review and pass the exams) and then get an awesome job with an awesome pay in order to live an awesome life that can make even a lil difference will do..:) Doing what I love most and making a living out of it is another story..ta ta for now..xoxo

This is what I’m talkin about :)

“Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” —Steve Jobs
